"Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" Proverbs 13:20

My dear friend is a huge part of my testimony. God used her to pour wisdom, love, and truth into my life when I was lost and broken.

Around 2020, I applied for a job and was offered a position. At the time, however, it was only part-time, and I simply could not afford to take it. When I spoke with the owner of the business, I respectfully declined, explained my situation, and moved on.

A couple of years passed. During that time, I experienced a difficult breakup, moved into an apartment by myself in a new town, and met new people from a gym I was going to. Eventually, I found myself in a relationship with an older man that was not good for me. I cared deeply for him and believed I was in love. Yet that relationship led me into a place of desperation, isolation, and ultimately abandonment.

A few months before that relationship ended, God had already begun speaking to my heart. My Nana gave me The Purpose Driven Life and The Prayer of Jabez from her basement. As I became more interested in the idea of a loving Heavenly Father, I started watching sermons online and seeking Him more intentionally.

At the same time, my workplace was undergoing major changes. The company I worked for was bought out, and the doctor I worked alongside left to open her own practice. With so much uncertainty, I wasn't sure what the future held for my job.

Then one day, I received a message on Indeed from the very doctor who had offered me a job years earlier. This time, he was reaching out with a full-time position and a pay increase from what I was currently getting to join his practice. Looking back, I can clearly see God's hand at work.

On my first day, it was just me and the office manager working together. We were scheduled to work side by side every Monday. That day, I met the woman who would become my dear friend and sister in Christ.

As we got to know each other, I shared that I was beginning a new journey of faith. That's when I learned she had been a Christian for many years. She walked beside me through those first years of following Jesus, and she continues to walk beside me today.

She has shown me God's love and truth in a way that shines so brightly. The seeds she planted in my heart have grown and continue to bear fruit. Through her friendship, God has given me wisdom about marriage, finances, health, and, most importantly, my relationship with Him.

Her faithfulness, encouragement, and willingness to speak truth into my life have helped shape the woman I am today. I thank God for placing her in my life at exactly the right time.

I truly believe that God orchestrated our paths to cross. What seemed like a missed opportunity years ago became a divine appointment. He knew exactly what I would need and exactly who He would use to help guide me closer to Him.

I would not be where I am today without her, and I will forever be grateful for the gift of her friendship.
